Lets go for a Picnic...

Today is already Friday. Looking forward for a good weekend tomorrow. And it's been a while I have a long thought of going for a picnic. Have even made this plan for a picnic several times before this but still can't get a good time for it. Hoping that this weekend to be the one.

Why do we go for a picnic?
Picnic is just a good event to spend time with either friends or family members and to enjoy with them the good time out of the busy schedule of life. It can also be a leisure activiries during our free time during the weekends. It is just a social gathering at which each participant generally brings food to be shared by a group of fashionable people for purposes of entertainment. Each member was expected to provide a share of the entertainment and of the refreshments, and this idea of mutual sharing or cooperation was fundamental to the original significance of the picnic. Later the word took on the additional meaning of an outdoor pleasure party.

An outdoor meal could be in a garden and as a picnic is concern it actually requires that we travel somewhere to eat. Wherever it is done, picnicking can be one of the supreme pleasures of outdoor life.

It is the pleasures of outdoor food are those the nature has to offer, as ephemeral as they are intense.

A bird will sing his song and fly away, leaves will flutter and jostle the sunlight for a brief second—sky, flowers, and scents have each their small parts to play in the perfect happiness of those enchanted moments and make the picnic a leisurely cheerful and stress relief moments.

Contemporarily, a picnic can be defined simply as a pleasure excursion at which a meal is eaten outdoors, ideally taking place in a beautiful landscape such as a park, beside a lake or with an interesting view and possibly at a public event such as before an open air theatre performance, and usually in summer.

Picnics are often family-oriented but can also be an intimate occasion between two people or a large get-together such as company picnics and social group picnics.

On romantic and family picnics a picnic basket and a blanket (to sit or recline on) are usually brought along. Outdoor games or some other form of entertainment are common at large picnics.

Some picnics are a potluck, an entertainment at which each person contributed some dish to a common table for all to share. When the picnic is not also a cookout, the food eaten is rarely hot, instead taking the form of deli sandwiches, finger food, fresh fruit, salad, simple snacks and accompanied by hot or cold soft drinks.

My picnic choice of location...
For this picnic plan of mine, I am still working out on a list of party names, foodlist and good choice of site. Various good sites has been shortlisted such as either in the gardens, in the park, by the lakeside, near the waterfall, at the hillside or maybe by the beach. Well either it is going to be a morning breakfast picnic, an evening affair or maybe a night beach picnic, that shall still be an options to make. For whatever  decission made, hoping that the picnic could bring me close to nature and please me as good to chase away the stress in me.

So... lets go for a picnic over the weekend :-)

And I hope by sharing these nice picnic scene pictures it will help me to decide my picnic site and theme and further inflence me by making me so tempting to have on my own.... PICNIC.

Cupcakes...

Suddenly today I’m thinking of Cupcakes!!!

Cupcakes has recently becoming popular in the food industry. Despite a normal size & round/square shaped of Birthday cakes, most people have change their prescription to a series of cupcakes. It is said to be more attractive, presentable and more chunky and sweeter in appearance. The taste may relates to it’s designed looks as presentable. It can be much more attractive when compared to normal look of the traditional cake.

 Why is it called Cupcakes?

Because back then they used to put cupcakes in an actual cup and bake the cake then some one invented a cupcake holder to put them in and the cupcakes are made out of cake mix, which are now baked in little paper or foil cups.

How popular the Cupcakes are?

Well, many people want to know this too. Cupcakes are really popular in the U.S. and in almost any part of the world. In most developed countries where innovative and fanciful products has good penetration in business markets, some people use cupcakes as their cakes instead of regular cakes. So cupcakes are really popular, not just in the U.S. but also around the world. Millions of people of all ages, races, backgrounds, and gender do like cupcakes.

How to make Cupcakes?

Instead of making the batter by our own, we can easily buy any cake mix from Supermarket or Wallmart, or what so ever Mart available nearby. Then it is easier to make the regular batter (If in any how that we may not know how to make a cake batter, just follow the instructions on the box). Next is to butter up the cupcake mold/pan/thingy and put the batter in it sufficiently. Finally just put it in the oven at 350 for 40-45 minutes. Finally, its something nice to enjoy with some homemade or bought frosting! And it’s the frosting that add up as the beautiful covering of the cupcakes. It brings some beauty to the cupcakes in making it so temptingly delicious to eat.

What is the difference between Muffins and Cupcakes?

A muffin is any quick b read (mixed by muffin mixing method & does NOT contain yeast) that is in the shape of a cupcake. A cupcake is any cake batter mixed with the straight method or creaming method made into the shape of a cup.

Cupcakes (traditionally) have frosting on top, while muffins have no frosting, but muffins can have a glaze on top. Many people think that the difference is either frosting or no frosting, or that it's "in a paper liner" or not, but that is a common mistake. Either one can be made with or without a paper liner; it's just the baker's preference.

A quick bread (or muffin) CANNOT be baked like a sheet cake or round layered cake because it won't bake properly. The same goes for a cupcake batter - a cake batter (or cupcake) cannot be baked in a loaf or bundt pan because it will not bake properly. But, since both can be baked into a smaller shape, people often think they're the same.

Other (humorous) distinctions between muffins and cupcakes:

If you threw a cupcake against the wall, you would hear something of a 'poof!' If you threw a muffin, you would hear a 'thud!'

A muffin does not look good in jeans but cupcakes do!

So sweet the Cupcakes….I’m making myself  Cupcakes too….

Patchworks...

Days and days passed by. It was loaded in my mind with so much things to do and yet so much things which haven't been tried. Suddenly today, while I was thinking of putting down some new things in my hobby list and I was triggered by a thought on a distance friend. Someone I knew who likes patchworks so much for her hobby. I remembered that one time she has made me to buy her a Mag on Patchworks.

Well, I couldn't be much as good like her since I practically don't even have the skill in patchwork at all. Anyway, a thought of her has come to my mind tonight after I saw one patchwork Mag in the bookstore rack after my rushing back from work. And I'm definitely curious to see what actually patchwork is all about.

Let see, what does wiki said about patchwork?
Patchwork or "pieced work" is a form of needlework that involves sewing together pieces of fabric into a larger design. The larger design is usually based on repeat patterns built up with different colored shapes. These shapes are carefully measured and cut, basic geometric shapes making them easy to piece together. Precise joining makes for patchwork that lies flat without puckers.

Patchwork is most often used to make quilts, but it can also be used to make bags, wall-hangings, warm jackets, skirts , waistcoats and other items of clothing. Some textile artists work with patchwork, often combining it with embroidery and other forms of stitchery.

When used to make a quilt, this larger patchwork or pieced design becomes the "top" of a three layered quilt, the middle layer being the batting, and the bottom layer the backing. To keep the batting from shifting a patchwork or pieced quilt is often quilted by hand or machine using a running stitch which can outline the individual shapes that make up the pieced top, or the quilting stitches can be random or highly ordered overall patterns that contrast with the patchwork composition.

Recently, many women or housewives who have gone deeply involve into this hobby of patchworks and quilting may have turn to business activities. Their products of patchworks csn be commercialised creatively. The design has groomed to be more modern, up to date and innovatively has bring up the patchworks to the level of markets demand.  Though my friend has yet not ending herself in a business lane but her satisfaction with her work as a hobby seems to enough for her.

Windows decor...

Can one imagine if their house does not have a window?

Its like living cramply in a box with only one opening which what we called a door. Windows are important in a house structure. Despite allowing more lights to the inner part of the house and making the house bright enough, they also make us possible to see the outside view of the house.

Some house or building do have such superb window design that makes the house beautiful. And most of the windows need creative alternative decor to match their design and purpose.

There are few beautiful window decorations that have captured my eyes to be saved into my photos collection which I like to share here for viewing. Maybe they can give some new ideas for your own home window decor. I had very much taken the benefits of their decor ideas for my own windows. It's something simple and nice to work with. Curtains, small plants, vases and flowers do give a big impact. They makes windows look more beautiful.

Either their luxuriously decorated with various design of curtains and blinds or as simple as small bunch of flowers in a single bottle. It is already creatively covered or decorated.

I love to do my windows based on my creativity, dont you feel the same with your windows?

Think PINK!

Its been such a duration  this Blog has not been updated and yet hunger for posts to be shared. Due to duty calls and other reasons this blog was put for sudden paused, like insufficient slot of time for blogging. While away on the sickness, life seems badly taken. Time seems precious with so many things to think of and to do list suddenly piling up. What can be said when medication schedules stays compulsory to heal. In any condition, staying positive has give me path of living. With God's will and positive effort and thinking has made me a strong person and percieve life in a very beautiful angle and scenes. Anyway, the come back time is already here. This blog shall have more beautiful posts to be shared onwards. Hope it will make others to see things in a better way and from different angle of perception. And as the beginning of the comeback, something that I would very much like to share here is the awareness of the Pink Ribbon.

Why Pink Ribbon? What meaning does it carries? But...why PINK?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia search,

The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Pink ribbons, and the color pink in general, identify the wearer or promoter with the breast cancer brand and express moral support for women with breast cancer. Pink ribbons are most commonly seen during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The color pink is considered feminine in modern Western countries. It evokes traditional feminine gender roles, caring for other people, being beautiful, being good, and being cooperative. The pink ribbon represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses who publicly support the breast cancer movement. It is intended to evoke solidarity with women who currently have breast cancer. Breast cancer organizations use the pink ribbon to associate themselves with breast cancer, to promote breast cancer awareness, and to support fundraising.

A pink and blue ribbon is sometimes used to symbolize breast cancer in men, which is relatively rare. The pink and blue ribbon was designed in 1996 by Nancy Nick, President and Founder of the John W. Nick Foundation to bring awareness that "Men Get Breast Cancer Too!"

If talking about Pink or Blue Ribbon and cancer awareness, it has been all out published almost in media and channels in supporting various efforts in combating and preventing this desease. Most information can be read and acquire from the internet therefore I'm not writing up so much about it here.

All I can say is it's great to value life and see things beautifully.
